Imagine you send a politician a giant online petition. There are thousands of names and email addresses. So what? How does she know you didn't just email her your contact list? How does she know you didn't just buy a list?

What if I have my members email the politician?
That can be faked too. You likely recieve hundreds of SPAM emails, which appear real, from real people, but are fake. Again, how can the politician know?
Futher, even if you have all of your members email, what is so impressive about forwarding an email, or copying and pasting?
